HELP For Teens (Humphries Essential Leadership Program) Mission Capable realizes that our youth of today are the leaders of tomorrow. They are growing up in an ever-changing world unlike that which we experienced in our youth. These can be very trying and difficult times for teens, parents and role models. Mission Capable can help. We have created Humphries Essential Leadership Program (HELP). HELP is a customized workshop designed for our teens and the issues they face daily. We provide participants the opportunity to develop leadership skills and to learn about leadership. All effective youth programs have youth development at their core. HELP provides young people with the opportunity to develop personal leadership (ethics, responsibility, integrity, goal setting, peer conflict resolution, interpersonal skills and community service) skills.
	Teens participate in group activities and listen to presentations given by motivational speakers and local community leaders. Adult and young adult mentoring is key to the success of this program. This is a high energy level program designed to encourage, motivate and empower teens to make a positive difference in their community and society. The participants are taught not to give in to peer pressure, but instead to make their own choices based on skills and tools gained through HELP. HELP has identified three basic developmental areas in which all young people need to learn and grow. They are the 3 senses: book sense, (importance of education), common sense (making good sound decisions) and street sense (diversity understanding others). Youth leadership programs are not a one size fit all, for this very reason we can modify our curriculum to suit your young leaders based on theirs needs. Upon completion they are more socially conscientious and ready to lead.
